Once again, Utah Valley Oasis has a booth at Provo Pride on Saturday September 14th, 2019. We've found many new members at this fun family event. Also, we've become the unofficial coffee provider for Provo Pride.

Once again, we are throwing #moderatelygoodcoffee to the wind and instead providing awesome Hobble Creek coffee! With any luck we will have cold brew, nitro cold brew, and possibly even Kombucha on tap.

If you'd be willing to help staff the booth, please DM Jeff Tulley, Kate Weaver, or David Halliday for a link to the signup spreadsheet.

Serve Lunch to the Homeless: Food and Care Coalition

The Food and Care Coalition serves meals to thousands of homeless each week. Oasis has been asked to serve lunch on the 4th Sundays of even months. These are always busy days, full of community spirit.

Come join us to help us serve lunch. Children who are old enough to take direction and help are encouraged to come with a parent.

We start prep at 10 and serve lunch 12-1 and then need a few people to help with cleanup. You can come for the entire time or just for a couple of hours. Please sign up so we can get a good count of how many will be there.

We've scheduled our group for the 3rd Saturday of every month from 11-1 at the American Fork Tabitha's Way Food Pantry.

We need to keep it to 20 volunteers maximum.

As far as ages, people 12 and older are great, children 8-11 years old would need to be accompanied and supervised by a parent.

We usually don't have children under 8 serve as we just don't have projects they would be able to do without lots of supervision.

Please RSVP if you plan to go so we can get a count.

Singles (and Friends) Mingle

This event is aimed at singles, though if you are in an open relationship you are also welcome. Come join us at Mt. Timpanogos park for some fun games and a potluck. We’ll be at one of the pavilions with an Oasis sign. If the weather is bad we’ll change the date, so stay tuned for updates.

Duration is set for two hours, but you can stay as long as you’d like.

We are an all-inclusive group, so you can count on a judgement-free zone. Please give us feedback at the end as this is our first singles event and we want to make it fun for all.

To help get the conversations started, we’ll have color-coded yarn wristbands corresponding to the types of relationships we’re looking for, whether it’s a monogamous or poly/swinger/other relationship, whether you’re looking for someone of the same sex or opposite sex, or you’re not looking for a relationship at all. We realize these wristbands may not cover all possible scenarios, but we think they’ll help people to open up about what they want and we encourage clear, up-front communication.

What you should bring (all optional but helpful if you have them):

  • food to share

  • outdoor games or equipment

  • jugs/coolers filled with water

We hope to see you there!

Come with your kids in their bathing suits and don’t forget the sunscreen and towels! Plan on mingling with other Oasis members, and feel free to bring snacks and drinks to share.
