Main Talk: Peggy Pasin: Women and Success in Utah Valley
Musician: Jacob Tiberius Jones
Peggy Pasin has been at Utah Valley University since 1989, beginning as faculty. She is currently the Retention Coordinator at the Women’s Success Center, serving in that position since 1997. Students referred to the Women’s Success Center often have multiple risk factors. Many clients referred specifically to Peggy are single parents, the economically disadvantaged, displaced homemakers, and/or survivors of domestic violence. She provides Success Coaching, listening with a wise, caring heart and offering a connection, advocacy, referrals, follow-up, encouragement, information, and campus and community support and resources as needed by students.
While she has received generous recognition for her accomplishments, the true essence of her work does not lie in the factual listing of achievements. She knows there is a sacred nature to her work of facilitating life transformations. She is grateful to all the marvelous people at UVU committed to serving students’ needs, and she is grateful to Doris Buffett and the Women’s Independence Scholarship Program staff who invest time and money to meet the needs of survivors of intimate partner abuse.
